JASMINUM multipartitum

Vigorous bush or climbing plant, evergreen and perennial, coming from South Africa which can reach till 3 metres of height. Strongly branched from the base, thick and compact, characterized by dark green elliptical leaves and by a deep blooming between the end of spring and the start of summer. This last one consists of big and fragrant white flowers with a corolla of maximum 12 petals and of ornamental and pinkish buds.

Even if it tolerates full sun, it prefers semi shaded positions. It needs rich, fertile and drained soils. It tolerates drought but benefits from sporadic summer irrigations; normally it likes additions of abundant organic materials. After blooming it can be pruned to contain its growth and improve its compact shape. This plant is ideal in full ground, but also in containers; it is very ornamental also without flowers.
