EUPHORBIA ceratocarpa

Description

This semideciduous bush which can often exceed 1 m of height, flourishes in sunny, overgrown and barren places, near the coast or till 1000 metres on the sea level in wide Southern Mediterranean areas. It speads spontaneously like its sisters. It's a perennial with a rounded shape and with branches wich are erect, lignified and bare down, while they are thickly covered with leaves up. These last ones are linear, lance-shapedof a green-bluish color on the top and of a clearer color at the bottom. Between late spring and and early summer, all branches are covered by fleshy gold inflorescences made by very small flowers, called Ciazio, with the typical morphology of all Euphorbiaceae; its next abundant fructification is at the base of the common spread and spontaneity of the plant.

Suggestions

It's a rustic plant which prefers sunny positions and poor and well drained soils. It doesn't need any summer irrigations infact it can face this season in perfect aestivation. It can be used alone or togheter with other mediterranean essences for the ralization of high borders in low maintenance coastal and hilly garden. Also ideal for reforestation projects and environmental rehabilitation.
