CESTRUM nocturnum

Semi-deciduous shrub that can grow up to 3 m tall, with narrow and bright green lance-shaped leaves and small greenish yellow flowers with a tubular corolla. Its main feature is producing a powerful sweet scent in summer nights. Hence its name of "night-blooming jasmine".

Place it in sunny or semi-shaded positions for several hours during the day and in a light and soft ferile and well drained soil. In spring and summer, periodic irrigations and fertilizations will prolong the flowering. If it is cultivated in pot, it needs very wide containers in order to grow better. In spring it must be pruned hard, while in winter it must be sheltered if located in areas subject to frost.
