GREVILLEA johnsonii

Description

Original evergreen bush, native to Australia, which can grow till 5 metres and which seems like a conifer. At the beginning of spring, the plant fills of a quite strange blooming made up of rose-red waxy inflorescenses .

Suggestions

This plant is ideal as a single specimen or to form informal hedges in coastal gardens; it needs a sunny position and a well drained and dried soil. Improve its development through sporadic summer irrigations and regular fertilizations by using slow release products. Just after blooming a pruning, even if strong, can improve the irregular shape of this plant and produce next richer flowerings. It doesn't tolerate long and deep frosts.
