CORTADERIA selloana

Description

Robust and evergreen graminaceous plant, native to Argentina, which can easily grow 2 meters tall. It consists of large and compact tufts of linear leaves with sharp and deep green edges. In late summer or autumn, some erect stems grow bearing showy silvery and pink inflorescences suitable for floral arrangements.

Suggestions

This ornamental plant needs sunny positions and light and fertile soils, both if it is used alone and with other plants. It benefits from abundand and regular waterings throughout summer. It tolerates the sea wind so it's ideal for coastal gardens.
