LAMPRANTHUS roseus

Description

Small, rounded and erect, evergreen and succulent, bush. It comes from South Africa and it can reach 40 cm of height and 50 cm of diameter.Stems are covered with dark green leaves. From the start of spring, the plant produces a lot of big axillary yellow or orange flowers, which are similar to daisies and which bloom in the brightest hours of the day.

Suggestions

Not a very demanding plant, it needs a sunny position and its soil must be dry, poor, sandy and well drained: infact it suffers from water stagnations. This plant tolerates drought and high temperatures very well, as well as the salt. On the contrary, it doesn't tolerate intense and long lasting frosts, above all in case of high humidity. It could be grown in pot but it is ideal also in rock gardens or in association with to other succulent or cactaceae plants.
