ASPARAGUS densiflorus 'Meyersii'

Description

This bush is very branched from the base, with bright green leaflets growing thickly on the stems. It is similar to the "Sprengeri" variety from which it differs only for the behavior of the stems which are erect rather than drooping. Small, very fragrant white flowers bloom in July, followed by shiny red berries in autumn. Suitable to sunny and semi-shaded locations, it tolerates drought well thanks to its succulent roots, but benefits from periodic irrigation in the dry season. Excellent for pots, at the base of shrubs or small trees, or to form interesting bushes and borders in the garden.

Suggestions

In warmer climates it is preferable to place the plant in semi-shaded places and support it with periodic wetting in summer.
