DIANELLA tasmanica 'Variegata'

Description

Herbaceous perennial plant native to Australia which forms great ornamental bushes up to 60 cm, thanks to underground rhizomes. Its web-like leaves are attractive and bright thanks to the presence of cream stripes on edges. A lot of inflorescences appear in the middle spring. They are characterized by little white greenish flowers followed by a lot of dark blue berries in autumn.

Suggestions

Place this plant in well drained soils and in sunny positions, avoiding the direct sunlight; the light shade created from the foliage of shrubs or small trees is ideal for the growth of this plant. Sporadic irrigations can improve its development. It's ideal for pot cultivation. In open ground, it produce ornamental effects above all when used as a border essence either alone or associated with other species.
