ANISODONTEA capensis

Description

Semi-deciduous shrub native to South Africa which can grow 2 meters tall, it has small green lobed leaves. It blooms several times throughout the year producing a multitude of flowers similar to the Hibiscus, but smaller and deep pink colored. It moderately tolerates cold and prefers sunny positions which stimulate a richer flowering. It tolerates well pruning and can be subjected to geometric shapes.

Suggestions

Place it in bright and drained soils. It tolerates short periods of drought, but in summer periodical irrigations improve the development. It could be grown in pot. It should be pruned at the end of winter in order to keep the compact shape of the plant and to improve the branching.
