Description

Delicious evergreen bush coming from the mediterranean basin. It's a thick and compact cushion which can easily exceed an height of 1 meter and a width of 1 metres. Stems are erect and prostate, while leaves are leathery, lance-shaped, twisted, alternate and of a green gray color. From late spring and during the summer, the plant shows its lasting blooming, made of showy and long inflorescences of small pink flowers having 5 petals.

Suggestions

It needs a sunny position and its soil must be well drained, dried and poor in nutrients. It tolerates drought and salt so it is ideal for the realization of coastal gardens. It tolerates short winter frosts. At the end of blooming, in the coldest areas in spring, you should shorten branches in order to give the plant a more ordered and compact shape and stimulate a greater branching and the next blooming. It can be grown in pot, it is good for rock gardens and low borders, it can be successfully used for covering sloping areas and escarpments and also for landscape renovations.
