Duranta repens ''Alba''

Description

Vigorous and deciduous bush, up to 5 m tall, with erect and arched branches bringing ovate and bright green leaves. Throughout summer it fills up of small white flowers, gathered in hanging inflorescences followed by clusters of orange berries very ornamental in autumn.

Suggestions

It can be used as a single flowered bush or to realize thick informal hedges. It can also be grown in pot, even if this limits the vigorous growth. It needs sunny positions and fertile soils. It tolerates drought, but it also benefits from regular irrigations in the warmest months. in spring a strong pruning could cut down the plant's development and stimulate its vegetative growth; in the same period a top dressing could improve the next blooming.
