BIGNONIA cherere (=Distictis buccinatoria)

Description

Semi-deciduous climbing plants with thin and flexible stems, ideal to cover arbors and railings. The main blooming occurs in late spring, followed by a second one which is less intense but it can last throughout autumn. This vigorous climbing plant produces very showy and particular flowers: two-tone long trumpets, yellow and red. Like many other climbing plants, it can be left to grow freely covering the soil, creating a large and thick green carpet or forming a majestic green waterfall if it is left hanging from the top of a wall.

Suggestions

Ensure drained soils and sunny positions. If grown in pot, blooming is poor or absent.
