ALOE cooperi

Description

It is native to South Africa and has long and flexible succulent leaves. Throughout summer, some decorative and orange inflorescences appear on its long erect stems. It is drought tolerant and it needs well-drained soils, even poor and stony, as well as sunny positions, so it is ideal for gardens with low water requirements and low maintenance costs. Over the time it produces new plants from the base, which will thicken the existing clump, giving a richer blooming every year. It can be cultivated in pots.

Suggestions

Avoid water stagnation and very windy positions. It is different from the most of Aloe plants, thanks to its summer blooming and to its cold resistance. So it is ideal both for coastal and internal gardens.
