ALOE saponaria

Description

Small succulent plant characterized by horizontal development, perfect for covering the ground. Rosettes, formed by dark green leaves with typical white spots, don't have in fact a stem; they develop and clump with each other forming a kind of carpet. its red-orange flower, rising from the center of rosettes, grows in late spring. This aloe is suitable to rock gardens, slopes in coastal gardens but also in colder areas if a well-drained soil is guaranteed. Beautiful in pots although its roots are able to fill all the available space in a very short time.

Suggestions

Put the plant in a sunny position, in a poor, sandy, stony and well-drained soil: in this way the plant can adapt to areas where winters are less mild too.
